Homecoming

That's right, he's coming home! Waking up in his home, sleeping in his own bed, doing his morning jig with Kaley (their dog), and getting back to his life is no longer a dream, but is finally a reality! The doctors have said they are very pleased with John's progress, and have set Tuesday as the day that he will get to finally go home after over two months of being in the hospital. Thank-you God for taking hold of Uncle John and never letting go. Many of us never imagined this would even be a possibility, but at the same time we never gave up hope. This hope and wish for our quiet giant has come true, and his hard work and our endless prayers have paid off. Congratulations to John and to his family. After all that they have been through I am so happy that they have this news to celebrate.

Life may not be the same when Uncle John comes home, but as God is my witness Uncle John will not have to face this 'new life' alone. As is apparent by the number of people following his story, he is loved so much by so many people. I hope this can give him some comfort and help him keep his strength as he faces this next chapter in his book!

  4. Congratulations Uncle John!

This is wonderful news and I am so thrilled that you will be home soon. And Hannans, you all are the strength that has helped your dad and husband get to where he is now. He fought (and is still fighting) to be with you to make more memories and watch you guys accomplish your dreams. So, my advice to you is to live without regrets. From here on, everything you do will be much sweeter because you can share it with your dad and with each other.

    I love you guys!

  5. What great news! You will be home for Easter! What a welcome to Spring. Although it won't be easy - your previous independence at a different point- day by day with patience (you definitely have shown that) and hard work you will recover. For now, relish this step and your inspiration to us all for The Power of Prayer and for the loving support of your wonderful family.

  8. To the wonderful Hannan family,

What an Easter gift to get to go home. You've endured the suffering and now you can enjoy the awesome resurrection! What incredible strength and fortitude you have shown as you have walked hand-in-hand with the Our suffering Jesus this Lenten season. Thanks for the incredible example of "keeping the faith" that you have shown to all of us! Looking forward to April 18th and continuing to keep you ALL in our prayers,

  9. Super news! Home after 40 days in the desert or something similar at least. Marv and I are available as chaffeurs. Marv isn't working anymore and he has enought spare time to be wondering how he can be useful. Just holler!

  13. John,

First thing when you get home is to clean up those golf clubs--You got new grips not long ago so they might be alright. Clean the dirt out of those spikes..We will play this season or next, but most importantly we will play.

  14. Hey John,

Don Boucher here. I don't think we have ever met but have talked over the years about appraisal stuff. Have been following your progress and am so happy you are getting to go home. You seem to have a great family and lots of friends. God has been good to you and yours. Take it easy and heal up because apparently from what I can see a lot of people are expecting you on the golf course! and soon!

  20. Quite a Lenten journey. We're so glad it's culminated at Home, Sweet Home. May your amazing recovery and progress continue. You and yours have truly renewed the faith of so many. Bridget has chronicled not only your story, but also her own. She has put into words the feelings of many who would never venture such expression of awareness.
